Private Funds Associate (Junior to Mid-Level) - MIA/CHI

Experience Information

- Minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 years of experience in a large law firm setting
- Some experience with fund formation and investment adviser work
- Genuine interest in practicing as a private funds lawyer

Responsibilities

- Assist sponsor clients in forming and structuring GP and management company entities
- Assist in forming and structuring investment funds and other alternative investment vehicles
- Represent clients in side letter negotiations and advise on investment opportunities with third party managers
- Manage fundraising processes for clients
- Help clients comply with ongoing regulatory requirements
- Advise clients on day-to-day legal needs

Qualifications

- Junior to mid-level associate with a minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 years of experience
- Experience in fund formation and investment adviser work
- Genuine interest in practicing as a private funds lawyer
- Strong academic history and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and able to take on responsibility and multi-task
- Basic understanding of entity types from a tax perspective
- Understanding of the fundamental elements of Federal securities laws
- Admitted to practice in jurisdiction or eligible for admission

Location

This position can be filled in the Miami or Chicago office.
