Job Overview
A law firm is seeking an experienced International Employment Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, focusing on employment counseling, with a strong preference for international expertise. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in employment law who are looking to support cross-border and global employment work. The position requires collaboration with various international offices and offers the chance to work on complex employment matters, including corporate transactions, employee mobility, and workforce reductions.

Duties

  • Advise on employment aspects of corporate transactions, including employment diligence
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, retention agreements, and related contracts
  • Guide reductions in force and employee terminations
  • Draft restrictive covenants and counsel on employee mobility
  • Assist emerging companies with comprehensive employment law advice
  • Support global employment work across multiple offices and jurisdictions
  • Handle various cross-border employment matters and counsel clients in international contexts
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations in different jurisdictions

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in employment counseling, with a preference for international experience
  • Experience in employment law from a major law firm, ideally in the AmLaw 100
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a global law firm environment
  • Strong academic background from a nationally recognized law school
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn new areas of employment law

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New York, or eligible for admission

Skills

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Proficient in advising on global employment issues and cross-border legal matters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse teams and clients
  • Ability to manage complex legal projects efficiently
