Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a Medical Malpractice Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with lead attorneys on various phases of litigation, demonstrating strategic thinking to meet client objectives. This role requires 2-4 years of relevant experience and New York licensure. Strong research and writing skills are essential, as well as preferred experience in insurance defense litigation and familiarity with carrier billing and reporting guidelines.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with lead attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including rapid response investigations, case evaluation, discovery, depositions, and trial presentations.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex legal issues related to medical malpractice cases.
  • Assisted in client communication and case management, ensuring client objectives were met efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend court proceedings, hearings, and mediations as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in medical malpractice or related litigation.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in insurance defense litigation.
  • Familiarity with carrier billing and reporting guidelines.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
