Job Overview:
A law firm is looking for a skilled and experienced mid-level to senior attorney to join their team, focusing on municipal infrastructure law. The ideal candidate will possess a strong aptitude for legal research, writing, and analysis, and have experience handling complex legal matters related to infrastructure projects. This role involves providing legal support for state and local governments and public agencies, with a particular emphasis on municipal law, regulatory frameworks, and infrastructure-related legal issues.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research using platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases.
  • Draft, review, and refine legal memoranda, briefs, regulations, ordinances, and other documents related to municipal infrastructure.
  • Analyze statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal sources to support litigation, transactional, or advisory matters.
  • Monitor and assess developments in municipal, state, and federal laws affecting infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials and substantive articles on municipal infrastructure matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island. Other jurisdictions may be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of legal experience, including at least 1 year focused on municipal law, infrastructure, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth legal research and produce high-quality written materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working remotely and engaging with clients via phone and email.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island is preferred, though other jurisdictions will be considered.

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research and writing, with proficiency in tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis.
  • Exceptional legal writing skills, with the ability to communicate, concisely, and persuasively.
