# Patent Agent

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is looking for experienced Patent Agents to join its Intellectual Property Services group. The ideal candidate should possess patent preparation and prosecution experience in the software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas. Patent Agents work hand-in-hand with inventors to help them identify patentable inventions, draft patent applications, and track the patent application process from initial application to granted patent.

## Essential Functions

* Identify patentable inventions
* Research current patented technologies
* Draft patent applications with the assistance of the patent team
* Track the patent application process from initial application to granted patent
* Complete ability searches regularly
* Solve client challenges and respond to client needs
* Respond to office actions and correspond with the . Patent and Trademark Office
* Consistently meet billable hour requirements

## Education and Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
* USPTO Registration required
* 1 year of professional experience
* 2+ years of experience

## Physical Activity

The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.

* New York: $100,200-$140,200
* Denver: $89,500-$125,500
