Job Overview:
A highly regarded law firm is seeking a Private Wealth Associate to join its New York office. This position is ideal for an attorney with 3 to 4 years of experience in high-end trust and estate planning. The role offers the opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate planning matters.
Location:
Duties:
- Assist clients with high-end trust and estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
- Provide legal advice to high-net-worth individuals and families on wealth transfer, asset protection, and tax planning strategies.
- Work with clients to develop customized estate plans that reflect their personal goals and objectives.
- Advise clients on complex estate and gift tax issues, charitable giving, and fiduciary matters.
- Collaborate with tax professionals and financial advisors to ensure the implementation of integrated estate plans.
- Represent clients in probate and trust administration matters, including handling contested estate issues.
- Conduct research on relevant legal issues and trends in estate planning.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional service throughout the estate planning process.
Requirements:
- 3 to 4 years of experience in high-end trust and estate planning.
- Strong knowledge of estate and gift tax laws, as well as fiduciary responsibilities.
- Experience in drafting estate planning documents, including wills and trusts.
- Ability to advise clients on complex estate planning strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar (or willingness to obtain).
Certifications:
- None required, but any certifications in estate planning or related areas are a plus.
