Law Firm Seeking Experienced Tax and Wealth Planning Paralegal in Atlanta, GA Job Title: Tax and Wealth Planning Paralegal Job Category: Paralegal Department: Taxation and Wealth Planning Location: Atlanta, GA Experience: Minimum of 8 years Primary Responsibilities • Manage calendars, including tax-related deadlines and client calls/meetings • Prepare Federal and State estate Tax Returns and Federal Gift Tax Returns • Administer estates and trusts, including preparing and filing probate documents, advising clients, and responding to client inquiries • Prepare withdrawal right notices and appointments of successor trustees for trust administration • Draft simple wills and correspondence • Apply for tax identification numbers • Prepare and file deeds and related documents, review deed records • Form entities with Secretary of State office • Prepare corporate minutes and maintain minute books • Calculate taxes, tax exemptions, and executor fees • Conduct basic research of local and state rules, federal statutes, and IRS authority, and provide written or verbal summaries to supervising attorney Skills and Abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills • Organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously • Proactive and able to identify and suggest process improvements • Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level • Customer service oriented, both internally and externally • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new programs quickly • Familiarity with tax preparation software, such as EstateWorks, Gems, and Zane, or similar products • Strong numerical skills (. basic math, spreadsheets, bank statements) Requirements • Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred • Paralegal certificate and/or 8 years of comparable work experience • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis Work Environment & Physical Demands • Office setting, utilizing standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and ,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications • Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as retirement plans and paid time off.
