Job Overview:
A law firm is hiring an associate-level attorney to support its long-term care and health care teams. This role focuses on providing counsel in regulatory and risk-management matters, including licensing, survey and certification, compliance, contract reviews, and other health-related issues. The firm is looking for an attorney who is eager to develop expertise in this field, with prior experience in health law preferred but not required. The position offers a hybrid remote work opportunity with flexible location options.

Location:

  • Pittsford, NY

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on critical long-term care and health law areas such as licensing, survey and certification, HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid compliance, and Certificate of Need (CON) issues.
  • Build and maintain strong, lasting client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service.
  • Actively participate in client meetings, presentations, and business development initiatives to grow the health care practice.
  • Stay informed on evolving health care laws and regulations, contributing to the firm’s thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to clients.
  • Meet the required minimum of 1800 billable hours annually.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate or litigation law; health care experience is preferred.
  • Strong candidates with less experience who show a passion for health care law will also be considered.
  • Admission to the New York, Connecticut, or Massachusetts Bar required; ability to waive into other jurisdictions is a plus.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Bar.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational skills for prioritizing and managing workload.
  • Ability to quickly absorb, process, and apply new information.
  • High performance standards and a sense of responsibility.
  • Professional, cooperative, and flexible attitude.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse personalities across all levels.
  • Military experience is welcomed.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:
