Job Summary:

Ropes & Gray, a leading law firm, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Attorney with 6-10 years of experience in litigation and enforcement. The ideal candidate must have native Japanese language abilities and a strong background in compliance, dispute resolution, and arbitration. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join our dynamic legal practice and make a significant contribution.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support in various litigation and enforcement matters, including investigations and dispute resolution.
• Develop and maintain compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Conduct thorough investigations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent clients in arbitration proceedings and provide strategic guidance throughout the process.
• Stay updated on laws and regulations and conduct legal research to support case strategies.
• Effectively communicate with clients and provide legal advice to ensure client satisfaction.
• Travel to Japan for in-person meetings with clients as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 6-10 years of experience representing public companies, fund sponsors, and financial services clients in enforcement actions and investigations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
• Native-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese is essential.
• Admission to practice in the state of New York, or eligibility for quick admission.
• Ability to lead teams, analyze complex legal issues, and provide strategic solutions.

Compensation:

In accordance with New York’s Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated pay range for this position is $380,000 - $475,000. However, this range may be modified in the future and is only applicable for jobs in Colorado.
