What will you do? - Provide support to in-house and outside litigation teams in all phases of complex civil litigation, including contract, products liability, personal injury, property damage, toxic tort, environmental litigation, and intellectual property. - Assist in litigation projects, such as factual investigation, document collection, review and production, discovery requests, and witness interviews and deposition preparation. - Manage responses to demands, threatened claims, and requests for information from third parties. - Handle litigation holds, new case intake process, files, and records, and coordinate project and case deadlines. - Conduct legal and factual research. - Contribute to legal department projects through project management. - Collaborate across organizational and geographic boundaries to build scalable processes. - Perform other duties as assigned to support Thermo Fisher's mission and the legal department. How will you get here? - 5+ years of commercial litigation experience at a major law firm or in-house legal department. - Bachelor's Degree in business administration, legal studies, communications, or a similar or related subject, or equivalent knowledge and experience. - Demonstrated ability to manage complex strategic projects. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - 4+ years of experience with eDiscovery tools, with experience in Relativity being a plus. - Solid understanding of federal, state, and local civil procedure rules. - 2+ years of experience with project management in a legal or scientific/engineering context. - Deadline and detail-oriented, self-directed, and skilled in prioritization and multitasking. - Willingness to learn new skills and take on non-traditional paralegal tasks, including exposure to project management frameworks. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, such as Excel, Power Point, Power BI, Tableau, Miro, and Smartsheets. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), strong initiative, results-orientation, collaborative/team instinct, and a can-do mindset.
