Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pre-trial and trial support for litigated matters of moderate to high complexity.
• Assist in the preparation, review, filing, and service of pleadings, motions, discovery, and subpoenas.
• Analyze and respond to incoming discovery, review and prepare documents for document production requests, and review and analyze medical records.
• Conduct legal research and writing assignments, including the preparation of medical chronologies and deposition summaries.
• Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and meetings, and communicate with clients and expert witnesses.
• Provide administrative support to trial teams, including the retrieval of information from document management systems and the assembly of exhibits, binders, and appendices.
• Understand and maintain confidentiality in respect to the attorney-client privilege/relationship and trial strategies.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of each file assigned to trial teams and understand the relevancy of case information for depositions, hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trial.
• Coordinate workflow and support the overall litigation strategy, and may assist in mentoring or training new and less experienced paralegals and legal assistants.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate studies in business administration, insurance, or other related area preferred.
• Certification in paralegal studies strongly preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation, or a combination of experience and education.
• General knowledge of law office operations, practices, and procedures.
• Experience with filing and scheduling procedures in various courts, as well as federal and state e-filing and e-court systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management databases.
• Understanding of insurance defense in state courts and agencies, and experience with personal and commercial lines policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in daily tasks.
• Understanding of corporate and NTD policies and procedures, as well as ethical rules.
