A law firm in New York City is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with a strong background in commercial real estate transactions. This position is ideal for an experienced legal professional with a deep understanding of complex real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development. The selected candidate will work closely with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders to facilitate seamless transactions while ensuring legal compliance and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial real estate transactions from inception to closing, ensuring all legal aspects are handled efficiently.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts, agreements, and financial documents related to acquisitions, dispositions, leases, and development projects.
  • Conduct due diligence, including reviewing title reports, surveys, zoning laws, and environmental assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, financial institutions, and government agencies to facilitate real estate transactions.
  • Advise clients on risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and strategic legal solutions to optimize deal structures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and proper execution of legal instruments throughout the transaction process.
  • Stay informed on changes in real estate laws and market trends, providing clients with up-to-date legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to maintain smooth workflow and uphold the firm’s professional standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in New York and be in good standing with the State Bar.
  • At least five years of experience in commercial real estate law, with a focus on transactional matters.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate finance, contracts, title review, leasing, and development law.
  • Exceptional negotiation and contract drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and industry professionals.
  • Experience working with financial institutions, developers, and investors is a plus.
