Experience Information:
- Law school graduate with excellent academic record and exceptional research and writing skills
- Minimum of 1 year of legal work experience required for JSP 12 level, 3 years for JSP 14 level
- Prior experience with pro se plaintiffs' constitutional claims and writs of habeas corpus preferred
Responsibilities:
- Review and manage habeas corpus petitions, motions to vacate federal death sentences, and prisoner civil rights cases
- Prepare memoranda, status reports, and orders
- Attend initial case management conferences and evidentiary hearings
- Manage cases, including tracking, briefing, and calendaring
- Other duties as required, including work on other habeas and pro se civil cases
