### Paralegal - Housing Stability
#### Overview
New Mexico Legal Aid (NMLA) is seeking a paralegal for its Statewide Housing Stability program to assist with serving eligible clients threatened with loss of their housing, housing subsidies, as well as statewide clinics and outreach.

#### Responsibilities
The Paralegal, under the direction of the managing attorney, will assist the attorneys with:
- Litigation Support
- Eviction prevention
- Habitability
- Reasonable accommodations
- Subsidized housing
- Low Income housing Tax Credit
- Other housing related work
- Designing statewide clinics and outreach programs

The duties of the housing stability Paralegal will include:
- Processing intakes
- Drafting pleadings
- Contacting clients
- Supporting attorneys in preparation for court
- Sending referrals to other support service agencies
- Engaging in outreach
- Arranging and assisting with legal clinics

#### Requirements

- Must be able to effectively use computer technology and remote communications systems, including shared on-line workspaces and web meeting and videoconferencing software
- Be able to effectively collaborate with staff located in multiple offices
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and build collaborative relationships within the staff and the community served by NMLA
- This is a statewide position and the candidate must be able to regularly travel
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
