Organization Northeast Legal Aid is seeking to hire a paralegal to join their Housing Unit in Lowell, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for public interest law to work for a respected organization.

Job Description

As a Legal Aid Paralegal for Organization Northeast Legal Aid's Housing Unit, you will provide support in the areas of Housing law. You will provide assistance to attorneys, handle a high volume of cases, and work with clients to ensure their legal needs are met.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal support to attorneys in the Housing Unit
• Conduct legal research on Housing law
• Draft and review legal documents
• Assist with court appearances and hearings
• Work with clients to ensure their legal needs are met
• Provide assistance with client intake and case management
• Prepare and maintain case files
• Conduct client interviews
• Organize and maintain court documents
• Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
