Salary Information: Salary range for this position is to hourly, based on location, experience, and qualifications.

Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, with a mix of virtual and in-office work. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.

Legal Specialist Sr. - Job Description and Responsibilities:

- Lead and coach support staff in providing legal support services for multiple Medicaid states and enterprise-wide functions.
- Prepare and evaluate legal documentation to resolve problems, close transactions, and maintain good corporate governance.
- Conduct legal research and analysis, recommend appropriate course of action, and perform fact-checking and document gathering.
- Serve as a lead in the investigation and resolution of complex cases.
- Monitor state and federal legislation affecting the corporation and make recommendations for changes.
- Attend and represent the company at legal proceedings, arbitration hearings, and subsidiary company board meetings.
- Utilize business knowledge and technical expertise to optimize solutions and improve practices.
- Participate in projects and negotiations with business and staff.
- Enter information into appropriate databases or document management systems.
- Handle Provider Contracting for Medicaid markets.

Legal Specialist Sr. - Qualifications:

- Paralegal Certification or AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal or related experience.
- Experience in Medicaid or other government programs preferred.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Skilled in the use of Excel preferred.
