(TRLA) Job Title: Team Manager Farmworker Team Location: Brownsville - Eagle Pass - Edinburg - El Paso - Del Rio - Harlingen - Laredo - Weslaco Experience: At least 5 years of federal litigation experience in employment law preferred Language: Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish is strongly preferred Related Timelines: Ongoing until position is filled Salary: Commensurate with other LSC-funded legal services programs Benefits: Medical, dental, and disability coverage, life insurance, retirement plan, and law school loan forgiveness plan Position Description: - Oversee TRLA's Farmworker Practice Area, representing agricultural workers throughout Texas - Familiarity with laws and legal processes impacting farmworkers, such as AWPA, FLSA, H-2A program, Title VII, ADEA, TVPA, and more - Advocate and collaborate with administrative agencies enforcing farmworker rights - Implement strategic and creative legal strategies to positively impact farmworkers - Supervise and plan outreach to migrant farmworkers, establishing strong ties with community partners - Direct administrative processes to ensure quality of services and efficient operations - Advocate for farmworker clients and staff as part of TRLA's Labor and Employment Practice Group Applicant Qualifications: - Membership in good standing in any state bar, willingness to become licensed in Texas - Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish strongly preferred - At least 5 years of federal litigation experience in employment law preferred - Excellent case development, legal research, and writing skills - Strong interpersonal skills, ability to engage and build trust with staff and lead advocacy with other agencies - Experience in project management or other supervisory roles preferred - Ability to effectively mentor and coordinate a team across geographically distant offices - Strong office management and organizational skills - Ability to think creatively and implement unconventional strategies - Experience working with diverse populations, including non-English-speaking and migrant communities - Demonstrated commitment to social justice and knowledge of TRLA's service delivery area Salary and Benefits: - Salary depends on experience and is commensurate with other LSC-funded legal services programs - Benefits package includes medical, dental, and disability coverage, life insurance, retirement plan, and law school loan forgiveness plan - TRLA is an equal opportunity employer that seeks a diverse workforce Related Timelines: - Consideration of candidates is ongoing and will continue until the position is filled
