# Compliance Officer
## Job Summary
The Compliance Officer is responsible for performing complex reviews of registration and re-registration statements received from charities and/or professional fundraisers, to ensure that applicable forms are submitted timely and fees are received in compliance with statutes, rules and regulations. The Compliance Officer is also responsible for reviewing financial reports, tax returns and legal instruments, to ensure that all required information has been provided.

## Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Review registration and re-registration statements from charities and/or professional fundraisers to ensure compliance with statutes, rules and regulations.
* Review online charitable solicitations to determine if registration is required.
* Review contracts to ensure that all statutory requirements are met.
* Review financial reports, tax returns and legal instruments to ensure that all required information has been provided.
* Verify that registrations and re-registrations meet statutory deadlines and are posted to the Charitable Trust Database in a timely manner.
* Assemble, organize and document any evidence of non-compliance with state statutes, rules and regulations.
* Follow up with applicable charities and/or professional fundraisers when necessary.
* Contact registrants or re-registrants to resolve discrepancies and return incomplete documents for resolution.
* Establish a process to track and monitor the status of all returned documentation.
* Keep the Senior Compliance Officer informed of any issues of non-compliance and the status of follow up with the non-compliant charity/professional fundraiser.
* Perform other compliance-related duties as required or assigned.

## Salary
Commensurate with experience.

## Minimum Qualifications
* A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Legal Studies or a computer-related field is required for this position, or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
* Knowledge of financial accounting concepts, legal instruments and tax documents.
* Experience using PC applications and databases.
* Familiarity with e-commerce applications is preferred.
* Ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to document and follow up on non-compliance issues.
* Ability to establish and maintain a satisfactory working relationship with other employees and charitable organizations/professional fundraisers.
* Attendance is an essential function of this position.
