Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with a strong background in family law litigation. The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing discovery, working with clients, and preparing for trial. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of family law cases, including financial and child-related matters, in a fast-paced and dynamic legal environment.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Conduct discovery in family law cases, including but not limited to:

    • Working with clients to complete financial affidavits.

    • Issuing and reviewing answers to interrogatories.

    • Issuing and complying with document production requests.

    • Issuing subpoenas and reviewing responses to subpoena requests.

    • Obtaining missing documents from production and subpoena responses.

  • Create trial exhibits and ensure compliance with trial order deadlines regarding disclosure and cutoff dates.

  • Assist in preparing legal documents and trial materials.

  • Provide legal counsel and support to clients throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois.

  • Experience in family law litigation, specifically in both financial and child-related matters.

  • Proficient in conducting discovery, including financial affidavits, interrogatories, document production, subpoenas, and trial exhibits.

  • Experience complying with trial order deadlines regarding disclosure and cutoff dates.

  • Strong organizational and case management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with legal teams.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

  • Illinois State Bar licensed.

Certifications:

  • Admitted and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of family law litigation.

  • Experience conducting discovery and creating trial exhibits.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
