Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Domestic/Civil Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Linthicum, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support in family law matters, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to the firm's success.

Duties:

  • Directly involved in all aspects of family law practice, including divorce proceedings, adoptions, prenuptial agreements, visitation rights, protective orders, and custody filings.
  • Manage client collection rate, ensuring it remains above 75% on a weekly basis.
  • Work with the in-house financial team to forecast client billings weekly.
  • Provide representation of clients in court and through legal proceedings.
  • Mentor and develop assigned Junior Associates and the legal support team.
  • Participate in the firm's Law’s Perfect Client Lifecycle development program.
  • Manage a regular schedule of hearings and court appearances.
  • Advise firm's Law staff on legal matters and interpretation of laws and statutes.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland.
  • Experience litigating domestic and civil cases preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication ability with the capacity to influence and persuade.
  • Superior work ethic with a desire to succeed and build a life-long career in the legal profession.
  • Organized with the ability to effectively manage time and multitask competing priorities.
  • Knowledgeable in family law areas, including childcare, paternity, adoption, domestic violence, ancillary relief, and financial settlements.
  • Adept at drafting custody agreements, wills, divorces, annulments, pre-nuptial agreements, child custody/support, visitation rights, and willing to expand competency in the same.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Maryland Bar Association membership.

Skills:

  • Litigation skills in domestic and civil cases.
  • Legal research and writing.
  • Mentoring and leadership.
  • Financial forecasting.
  • Client relationship management.
  • Drafting legal documents.
