A law firm seeks an experienced Real Estate Transactional Associate to join its growing team in New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience handling a broad spectrum of real estate matters, including acquisitions, development, financing, leasing, and management of commercial and residential properties. This is a client-facing role that demands both independence and the ability to collaborate within a team. The firm offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the opportunity to manage significant transactions and interact directly with clients.

Duties

  • Represent clients in complex real estate transactions involving acquisitions, sales, financing, leasing, and property development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, leases, and other transactional documents.
  • Advise clients on real estate investment strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, from due diligence to closing.
  • Provide guidance to clients on the legal and financial aspects of real estate projects, including zoning, land use, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work with a diverse set of clients, including developers, investors, landlords, and tenants, offering strategic legal advice and solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-profile transactions and assist in managing a diverse caseload.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in real estate transactional law, including expertise in acquisitions, finance, and leasing.
  • Proven track record of independently managing real estate transactions and providing legal counsel.
  • Strong understanding of the New York real estate market and its legal frameworks.
  • Experience working on both commercial and residential property matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume, high-stakes transactions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment while taking on individual responsibility for key projects.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required.

  • Expertise in real estate law, including acquisition, finance, leasing, and property development.
