H1: Legal Secretary - AWP: Administrative Support for Marginalized Communities H2: Support the Agricultural Worker Program at CRLA Salary Range: - per hour Experience: 1+ years as a Legal Secretary or equivalent experience Location: Stockton, CA Position Type: Full-Time, FLSA Non-Exempt, Union Position Overview: - Founded in 1966, CRLA's mission is to fight for justice and individual rights for marginalized communities. - Provides legal services to tens of thousands of low-income people annually. - Impacting farmworkers, indigenous populations, individuals with disabilities, immigrant populations, LGBTQ+ communities, women, children, and low-income families in rural areas. Responsibilities: - Works with a team of support staff to provide secretarial support to Agricultural Worker Program staff. - Drafts legal documents and correspondence. - Files documents with the court and stays updated with changes in local court rules and procedures. - Assists walk-in applicants and clients at the CRLA Stockton office. - Types and reviews outgoing correspondence. - Contacts the court for case statuses and communicates with court clerks. - Maintains records and organizes client files. - Performs various secretarial duties. - Operates office machines. - Inputs case and project information into CMS. - Provides support to other Legal Secretaries. - Assists with library maintenance. - Performs other law office duties as assigned. Qualifications: - 1-3 years of legal secretarial experience or equivalent. - Typing speed of 55-60 . - Knowledge of computer software and case management systems. - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Table of Authorities, internet, and email. - Ability to maintain client confidentiality. - Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
