A well-established national law firm is seeking a defense litigation attorney to join its Chicago-based team. This role involves handling a caseload from inception through resolution, working with experts, and conducting depositions. This is a hybrid position requiring at least one in-office workday per week.

Duties

• Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents

• Work closely with experts and clients to develop case strategies

• Conduct depositions and participate in court proceedings

• Collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience

• Hands-on experience managing case files and working through the litigation process

• Experience in products liability, toxic tort, and/or general liability preferred

• Must be admitted to practice in Illinois

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting

Education

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and good-standing membership with the Illinois Bar

• Effective case management and organizational skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Experience working with expert witnesses preferred
