The ideal candidate should have significant experience providing advice to businesses on various aspects of health and welfare plans, including compliance with regulations such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21. The role involves drafting and negotiating service provider agreements and resolving issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise businesses on health and welfare plans, including wrap plans and cafeteria plans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements related to employee benefits.
  • Resolve issues related to the administration of health and welfare plans.
  • Provide expert advice on all aspects of health and welfare plans, including wrap plans, cafeteria plans, and flexible benefits arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, including but not limited to the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, TiC, and CAA 21.
  • Draft and negotiate service provider agreements related to employee benefits.
  • Resolve issues pertaining to the administration of health and welfare plans.

 

Experience:

The ideal candidate should have substantial experience providing proactive advice to employers on compliance and litigation issues affecting health and welfare employee benefit plans.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
  • Substantial experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Proven track record of providing proactive advice to employers on compliance and litigation issues.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of health and welfare plans and related regulations.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills for service provider agreements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and issue-resolution abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
