Overview:

- BNY Mellon is a global financial services company operating in 35 countries and serving more than 100 markets.
- The Risk and Compliance team provides risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses.
- The Business Compliance Officer (BCO) role supports the BNY Mellon Corporate Trust line of business in the America's, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies.
- The BCO will provide guidance and advice to key stakeholders on compliance, regulatory, and operational aspects of Corporate Trust products and services.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical advice and guidance to business colleagues on compliance and operational issues.
- Maintain strong relationships with senior business unit managers.
- Analyze regulations and industry practices to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate control processes and work with the business to improve them.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of BCO responsibilities.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and collaborate with the business to address any issues.
- Provide challenge and support in meetings regarding regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to projects and programs to improve compliance and enhance the control environment.
- Participate in or lead compliance-related training.
- Support the Compliance Testing and Audit teams.
- Contribute to the preparation of time-sensitive reporting.
- Contribute to the establishment of key risk indicators and tracking methodologies.
- Achieve team objectives.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or Finance preferred.
- 10-12 years of experience in compliance, financial services, audit, legal, or operations.
- Solid understanding of financial services products and operations.
- Technical knowledge of US regulatory framework.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to provide strategic leadership and effective challenge.
- Ability to think proactively and suggest solutions.
- Team player with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Articulate and able to represent Compliance to senior business personnel and external stakeholders.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
