Overview:

TRLA (Texas RioGrande Legal Aid) is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paralegal B to join our Public Benefits Team. As a part of this team, you will have the opportunity to represent clients in administrative proceedings before various agencies, such as the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. This position is available in multiple locations, including Austin, Edinburg, Laredo, Victoria, San Antonio, Sinton, RGV, and Corpus Christi.

Responsibilities:

As a Paralegal B for the Public Benefits Team, you will be expected to perform the following duties and activities:

• Provide direct representation of clients in administrative or judicial proceedings as Person-in-Charge of individual cases
• Maintain a client caseload and exercise independent professional judgement on all aspects of each individual case
• Work under the supervision of a Team Manager or Branch Manager
• Conduct eligibility and substantive interviews in person and over the ,230 per year.
