A law firm in New York City is seeking a Litigation Employee Rights Attorney to manage all aspects of employment litigation. The successful candidate will oversee cases from initial strategy and investigation through resolution, with a focus on protecting civil rights and ensuring compliance with employment laws. This role demands experience with federal employment laws, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and a passion for advocating for employee rights.

Duties:

  • Manage employment litigation cases from inception through resolution, including strategy development, investigation, and case preparation.
  • Oversee and handle claims filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and other relevant agencies.
  • Litigate claims under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Prepare and conduct depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on employment rights and compliance with relevant laws.
  • Represent clients in settlement negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Stay current with developments in employment law and relevant case law.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and manage case-related tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in employment litigation, with a strong track record of handling complex cases.
  • Demonstrated experience with EEOC claims and litigation under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and FLSA.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to become admitted promptly.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for protecting employee rights and preserving civil liberties in the workplace.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York Bar or eligibility to become admitted promptly.
