Job Description

The Senior Attorney in the Litigation & Enforcement practice group at Ropes & Gray will provide comprehensive legal support in various litigation matters, enforcement actions, investigations, and dispute resolution for clients in the . and throughout Asia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enforcement and investigation, compliance, and dispute litigation, as well as native-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese. Responsibilities

The Senior Attorney will be responsible for:

Providing legal support in various litigation matters, including enforcement actions, investigations, and dispute resolution.
Assisting in developing and maintaining compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
Conducting thorough investigations into legal matters by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Representing clients in arbitration proceedings and providing strategic guidance throughout the process.
Staying updated on relevant laws and regulations and conducting legal research to support case strategies.
Communicating effectively with clients and providing strategic legal advice.
Traveling to Japan for in-person meetings with clients as needed.


Required Skills and Abilities

6-10 years of legal experience representing public companies, fund sponsors, and financial services clients in the . and throughout Asia.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese.
Native-level proficiency in spoken and written Japanese.
Admission to practice in the state of Illinois, or eligibility to become admitted in that jurisdiction quickly.
Ability to work collaboratively and lead teams.
Analytical skills to analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic solutions.
Willingness to travel as needed.
