If you have experience advising employers or plan sponsors on benefits matters, including:

  • Qualified retirement plans (401(k), pensions)

  • Health and welfare plans (HIPAA, ACA, COBRA)

  • Executive compensation and equity arrangements (409A, 280G)

  • Plan drafting, regulatory compliance, and fiduciary guidance

  • ERISA prohibited transactions and DOL/IRS interaction

  • Benefits support in mergers, acquisitions, and integrations

  • Multiemployer plans and withdrawal liability

Duties

  • Advise employers, plan sponsors, and fiduciaries on ERISA compliance and benefits regulations.

  • Draft and revise retirement, health, welfare, and executive compensation plans.

  • Counsel on equity plans, deferred compensation, 409A issues, and executive-level agreements.

  • Address fiduciary duties, prohibited transactions, and DOL/IRS audits or inquiries.

  • Support M&A transactions with benefits due diligence and integration work.

  • Analyze HIPAA, ACA, MEWA, COBRA, and related health-plan obligations.

  • Provide practical guidance to HR teams, executives, and in-house counsel.

Requirements

  • 1–10+ years of ERISA / employee benefits experience.

  • Strong knowledge of retirement, welfare, and executive compensation rules.

  • Excellent writing, drafting, and analytical skills.

  • Tax . or accounting background is a strong plus.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the bar in at least one . jurisdiction.
