Job Overview: The Benefits And Executive Compensation Associate Attorney will advise on employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, nonqualified plans, and compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions. Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on employee benefits matters, including qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans.
  • Advise on compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including plan documents, summary plan descriptions, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar.
  • 4-6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Experience advising on qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, and nonqualified plans.
  • Experience advising on compensation and benefits issues in corporate transactions, including ESOP transactions.
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Can-do, problem-solving attitude.
  • Intrinsic motivation and ability to work independently.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a large law firm environment.
  • Familiarity with Washington, DC, legal regulations and practices.
