1L Diversity Fellowship The candidate will gain practical and valuable work experience to strengthen their legal and professional skills while providing them with meaningful mentoring and training opportunities that will enrich their future legal careers. Firm is committed to providing a diverse, inclusive and respectful work environment for talented employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences and believe that a diverse and inclusive culture creates a richer work environment for employees, better service for clients and a strong commitment to the local communities the firm serves. Must be attending an ABA-accredited law school. Any rising second-year law students who come from backgrounds that would add to the cause of diversity, regardless of race, gender, national origin, or sexual orientation are eligible to apply. Must be committed to practicing law in the resident office state upon graduation. Must have demonstrated leadership ability, excellent writing and interpersonal skills, and academic achievement. Applications will be accepted beginning December 1. Students selected for the Diversity Fellowship will receive a paid summer associate position for the duration of firm’s 10-week summer program, plus an additional payment at the successful completion of the summer program. Those who receive and accept offers to return for a second summer will receive an additional payment in the spring and will be eligible to apply for 2L Diversity Scholarship.
Send completed summer associate program application form; personal statement of up to 500 words explaining how background and experience demonstrates a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion and can bring a diverse perspective to the firm; A current resume that includes law school and undergraduate GPAs; An official law school transcript (when available).
