Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate to join its Native American litigation team. This position provides an opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in complex legal issues related to tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. Additionally, the associate will handle commercial and construction disputes. This role offers the chance to work with a prestigious Native American practice and gain significant experience in litigation, administrative law, and Federal Indian Law.

Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in litigation matters regarding tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
  • Handle complex commercial and construction litigation cases.
  • Participate in trials, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance in administrative law matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, and support the development of case strategies.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of client service and communication throughout the legal process.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience or significant interest in Federal Indian Law and administrative law.
  • Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent academic credentials, with strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

  • Litigation experience, with a focus on complex legal matters.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Understanding of Federal Indian Law and related legal matters.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients effectively.
