A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney to join its Civil Litigation practice in Portland, OR. This position involves handling cases related to personal injury, general liability, and business litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in civil litigation, strong analytical and writing skills, and membership in the Oregon State Bar.

Duties:

• Represent clients in civil litigation matters, focusing on personal injury, general liability, and business-related cases.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research to support litigation strategies and case development.
• Manage all aspects of case preparation, including discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Advocate on behalf of clients in court proceedings, including motions and hearings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to devise case strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and witnesses.
• Provide regular updates to clients and ensure they are informed throughout the litigation process.
• Assist with settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury, general liability, and business litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while maintaining a high level of client service.
• Proven experience with legal research and preparing motions, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents.
• Ability to represent clients effectively in court and during settlement negotiations.
• Oregon State Bar membership or eligibility to practice in Oregon.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in case management and legal research tools.
• Ability to handle complex litigation and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
