Job Overview:

A law firm based in Chicago, specializing in Employment and Class Action litigation, is seeking a full-time Senior Associate Attorney or Counsel to join their team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in legal research, writing, and class action brief development, with a strong track record of creating high-quality, persuasive legal documents. The role focuses on preparing complex briefs and motions in employment-related class action cases.

Duties:

  • Prepare detailed legal briefs, motions, and memoranda for class action cases.
  • Draft and manage complex dispositive motions, oppositions to class certifications, motions for decertification, motions for summary judgment, motions to compel arbitration and appeal-related documents.
  • Assist with developing briefing strategies in collaboration with the class action merits teams.
  • Ensure legal arguments are supported by relevant case law, statutes, and other legal authorities.
  • Stay updated on developments in employment law and class action litigation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage and prioritize case documents, ensuring deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Contribute to the firm's legal research efforts, producing well-organized and thorough reports.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in legal research and writing, particularly in employment and class action matters.
  • Proven expertise in drafting legal documents for complex litigation, including class action cases.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and writing skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with litigation teams and contribute to case strategies.
  • Exceptional legal research skills and the ability to synthesize complex legal issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks efficiently.
  • Strong work ethic, with a focus on results and client outcomes.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar.

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and writing proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of class action and employment law.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic legal approaches.
  • Proficient with legal research tools and case management software.
