The position requires independent judgment, and considerable knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and procedures. The position is in Department 13, Judge Matthew Thomas. The position requires the following: * Attend and take the official record throughout Superior Court * Work as a team with the judge and the judicial assistant * Assist other judicial departments when coverage is needed * Create the official record of all sessions of Superior Court * Produce efficient and expeditious productions of transcripts * Maintain control and custody of stenographic notes * Prepare and maintain detailed chronological logs * Timely secure and index stenographic notes in accordance with the Superior Court Clerk’s Office * Provide Realtime (preferred, not required) to the Court ## Qualifications ### Minimum Qualifications * Must be a Certified Court Reporters as tested and qualified under WAC 308-14-085 * Maintain certification on a yearly basis with the Department of Licensing ### Preferred Requirements * Certified as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) A background check is required as a condition of employment. ## Supplemental Information To be considered for the Official Court Reporter position, applicants must complete and submit a detailed online Pierce County Employment Application, submit a resume and cover letter, and email the Recruitment Team at and specify the Job Number and Title.
