## Job Description

The Official Court Reporter position is a full time position that requires 35 hours per week. The position requires independent judgment, and considerable knowledge of legal terminology, processes, and procedures. The position is in Department 13, Judge Matthew Thomas.

The position requires the following:

* Attend and take the official record throughout Superior Court
* Work as a team with the judge and the judicial assistant
* Assist other judicial departments when coverage is needed
* Create the official record of all sessions of Superior Court
* Produce efficient and expeditious productions of transcripts
* Maintain control and custody of stenographic notes
* Prepare and maintain detailed chronological logs
* Timely secure and index stenographic notes in accordance with the Superior Court Clerk’s Office
* Provide Realtime (preferred, not required) to the Court

## Qualifications

### Minimum Qualifications

* Must be a Certified Court Reporters as tested and qualified under WAC 308-14-085
* Maintain certification on a yearly basis with the Department of Licensing

### Preferred Requirements

* Certified as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR)

A background check is required as a condition of employment.
