If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Legal Assistant in our Trusts, Estates, and Elder Law Practice Group at McGuire Wood & Bissette, . in Asheville, NC. We are looking for a second legal assistant to support our attorneys in matters such as guardianship, contested fiduciary litigation, trust modifications, beneficiary representation, and Medicaid applications. While prior experience in these areas of law is preferred, we encourage all interested applicants to apply. We value a good attitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication to client service, proofreading abilities, Microsoft Office proficiency, multi-tasking talent, and the ability to work under pressure. As a Legal Assistant in our firm, your responsibilities will include assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents, managing case files, conducting legal research, coordinating meetings and court appearances, communicating with clients and court personnel, and performing general clerical duties. You will also have the opportunity to assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and exhibit management, if applicable. To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, proficiency in legal case management software, strong writing skills, familiarity with legal research tools, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.
