Duties

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Assist in case preparation for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
  • Maintain client communication and provide updates on case progress
  • Handle document reviews and manage discovery responses
  • Represent clients in court for motions, hearings, and minor trials
  • Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and risk assessment
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to develop case strategies
  • Meet assigned billable hour targets through efficient case management
  • Stay updated on legal developments through continuing legal education (CLE) programs
  • Contribute to firm initiatives and team projects

Requirements

  • 1–10 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably with construction defect cases
  • Strong understanding of state and federal laws related to construction and general liability litigation
  • Experience managing discovery, drafting legal documents, and preparing for court appearances
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida

Skills

  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills
  • Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously
