Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Public Sector and Environmental Law practice groups. This role involves representing municipalities, governmental bodies, businesses, and community groups in a variety of legal matters, including regulatory compliance, land use, litigation, and environmental law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal research, drafting, and courtroom advocacy.
Location:
Duties:
- Represent counties, townships, boroughs, municipal authorities, school districts, and other governmental entities.
- Provide legal counsel on public sector matters, including governance, regulatory compliance, and policy development.
- Handle environmental law cases for local governments, non-profits, property owners, businesses, and grassroots organizations.
- Draft pleadings, briefs, ordinances, and legal opinions.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex municipal and environmental law issues.
- Participate in hearings, depositions, and litigation proceedings.
- Negotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of clients.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant legal experience.
- Substantive experience in public sector and environmental law.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Experience drafting pleadings, briefs, and legal documents.
- Courtroom experience, including hearings and depositions.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
