Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join their civil litigation team. This firm specializes in high-stakes cases, particularly those involving catastrophic loss response and transportation litigation, serving clients across the nation. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong ability to handle cases both independently and in collaboration with a team. Duties:

• Independently and collaboratively manage a caseload of civil litigation matters
• Take and defend depositions, conduct oral arguments, and represent clients in court
• Develop litigation management plans and onboard expert witnesses
• Maintain direct communication with clients, providing updates and strategic advice
• Attend professional events locally and nationwide as necessary
• Contribute to the firm’s growth by working both autonomously and as part of a team

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably in transportation and catastrophic loss cases
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage a diverse and complex caseload
• Proven track record of taking and defending depositions and making oral arguments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction
• Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania (admission to additional jurisdictions such as West Virginia and/or Ohio is preferred)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania
• Admission to additional jurisdictions (West Virginia and/or Ohio) is a plus

Skills:

• Civil litigation experience, particularly in transportation and catastrophic loss cases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Excellent client management skills and attention to detail
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently
