# Bankruptcy Litigation Associate – Law Firm's New York Office

Law Firm is seeking an associate with 3 or more years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditors’ rights and insolvency-related litigation in state and federal courts. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, local rules, UCC, and secured transactions. Because the practice is both litigation and transaction based, the candidate should have strong research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills, alng with ability to draft transactional documents as needed. Law Firm prefers candidates with excellent written and oral communication skills, a team-oriented mentality, and who are motivated self-starters with strong law school credentials.

## Responsibilities

- Be part of a busy restructuring practice that is a mix of litigation and transactional work
- Take depositions and argue motions and contested matters in the courtroom
- Receive training opportunities with growing levels of responsibility
- Collaborate across practice groups and across offices
- Work in a small office atmosphere with the resources of an AmLaw 200 firm
- Have opportunities for advancement in a collegial environment
- Engage in business development activities with the potential to grow into partnership
- Be allowed to work remotely two days per week

## Requirements

- Have significant courtroom experience in motions practice, contested matters and/or adversary proceedings
- Be a fast thinker who can respond and pivot well in court and under pressure
- Have taken, or materially assisted (second chaired) in the preparation of many depositions
- Have strong research and writing skills
- Excel in a team environment
- Demonstrate a keen interest in developing and implementing relationship-building skills both internally and externally
- Have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own
- Be highly motivated and a self-starter
- Be flexible and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Have excellent law school credentials and references

The salary range for this position is $215,000-$375,000.
