Duties:

  • Work on all aspects of patent practice with a specific focus on patent application preparation and prosecution.
  • Provide technical expertise in life sciences patent practice.

  • Conduct freedom to operate and IP due diligence search and analysis for licensing, acquisitions, and research and development projects.
  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications, contributing to the development of strong patent portfolios for pipeline products and platform technologies.
  • Liaise with clients, the USPTO, and foreign associates to strategize and manage domestic and foreign patent applications.
  • Explore opportunities for advancement in a collegial work environment.
  • Receive training and progressively assume greater responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of colleagues across practice groups and office locations.

Requirements:

  • Must be a registered patent attorney.
  • Possess an advanced degree and research experience in biological sciences.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive materials.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality due to the sensitive nature of the position.
  • Hold 3-8 years of patent experience in life sciences.
  • Hold a . in biological sciences, such as molecular or cell biology, microbiology, immunology, genetics, organic chemistry, or biochemistry.
  • Exhibit a superior academic record, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Prior law firm experience with patents in pharmaceutical and life sciences fields.
  • Be currently registered and in good standing with the USPTO.
