Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We are currently seeking a Practice Support Team Specialist (Education Legal Assistant) to join our team, who will be responsible for providing point of contact administrative support to assigned attorneys within our Education Practice Group. This role requires a minimum of 3-5 years of legal experience with a heavy focus on Education law, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. The ideal candidate will also have strong communication, grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills, as well as previous transcription experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate all workflow for assigned attorneys, delegating specific tasks to other teams and ensuring follow-up and quality control.
- Prepare legal documents, including typing, transcribing, revising, and proofreading, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Assist in coordinating timekeeper calendars and meeting arrangements, as well as making travel arrangements and preparing itineraries.
- Manage client billing matters, prepare billing letters, and assist attorneys with tracking and monitoring alternative fee arrangements and matter budgets.
- Process new client/matter intake, including preparing and processing new matter forms and requests for conflict checks.
- Review and route incoming mail and fax communications, and prepare and process outgoing mail and faxes.
- Maintain attorney contacts, track CLE and membership requirements, and provide general administrative support.
- Work collaboratively in a team, actively participating in regular team meetings and using team software to manage workflow effectively.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Education law, supporting the Education practice group with tasks such as e-filing, calendar coordination, document edits, and pleadings.
- Operate office equipment including PCs, printers, phones, copiers, facsimiles, and typewriters.
- Remain calm and professional under pressure, and conduct all business in a confidential manner.

Qualifications:

- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of legal experience with a heavy focus on Education law is required.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
- Previous transcription experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

- Compensation commensurate with skill and experience, with expected ranges of $53,000 - $102,000 in various states and jurisdictions.
- Discretionary bonuses may be available based on individual and firm performance.
