A law firm seeks a skilled Associate to join its Patent Prosecution & Litigation practice, with a focus on intellectual property litigation. This position, based in Las Vegas, NV, provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced attorney to manage complex IP litigation matters. The role involves a combination of legal strategy, case management, and client interaction, with a particular emphasis on patent-related disputes.

Duties:

  • Lead and manage intellectual property litigation cases, including drafting motions, briefing, and preparing for trial.
  • Take depositions, collaborate with expert witnesses, and support case strategies.
  • Handle Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) proceedings and trial preparation as needed.
  • Oversee and supervise junior associates and paralegals, guiding them through case-related tasks and legal strategies.
  • Ensure efficient case management, meeting deadlines, and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Advise clients on IP litigation strategy and provide actionable legal insights.
  • Prepare and review legal documents such as discovery requests, motions, and trial briefs.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in intellectual property litigation.
  • Strong background in briefing, motions practice, depositions, and expert collaboration.
  • Familiarity with PTAB proceedings and trial work is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of managing cases independently and mentoring junior staff.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters while maintaining strong organizational skills.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Nevada or eligible for immediate licensure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • A technical degree (such as engineering or computer science) is strongly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Nevada State Bar or ability to become licensed in Nevada.
  • USPTO admission is preferred, but not required.

Skills:

  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing abilities.
  • Expertise in managing multi-faceted IP litigation cases.
  • Excellent organizational and case management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts in clear and concise terms.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal work.
