They are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring all compliance with respect to finances within the NDS, Harlem office. They will be responsible for accounting and banking, assisting with filing invoices for payments and entering payroll registers. Responsibilities Analyzing transactions and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, analyzing results, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. Handling of allocations in accounts payable and general ledger. Managing the organization’s AMEX credit card. Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Completing payroll journal entries for import to the general ledger. Protecting organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Assisting Finance team members as needed. Qualifications Experience with government grant administration and accounting practices. Experience with NYC’s HHS Accelerator and NYC’s PASSPORT systems preferred. Nonprofit accounting experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with Financial Edge accounting software preferred. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Accounting and analytical skills. Managerial and administrative skills. Highly organized and meticulous. Excellent goalsetting, prioritization, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication (written and oral) skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. Compensation Compensation is commensurate with experience and is in adherence to the NDS compensation scale. An expected range for candidates with five to ten years of experience is between $77,380 and $95,679. Full medical and dental benefits, as well as other benefits, are provided.
