Paralegal - Tax and Private Wealth (Falls Church, VA) Summary: Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP, a growing business and litigation law firm with approximately 200 attorneys in the Mid-Atlantic region, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal to support their Tax & Private Wealth practice group in their Falls Church office. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm setting and possess excellent organization and communication skills. Job Title: Paralegal - Tax and Private Wealth Department: Tax and Private Wealth Location: Falls Church, VA Salary: Competitive, based on experience Experience: Minimum of 3 years trust & estates law paralegal experience required Responsibilities: - Document preparation and management for sophisticated trust and estate administration matters - Prepare initial drafts of trust and estate-related tax returns - Prepare, edit and review informal estate and trust accountings - Assist attorneys in various types of legal matters related to trusts and estates - Gather, organize, summarize, and index documents from various sources - Draft legal documents, including pleadings and motions - Research and analyze legal sources - File documents in Court and maintain positive relationships with Court staff - Maintain records of billable hours - Perform other related duties as assigned Education and Experience: - Bachelor’s degree from an ABA-approved paralegal educational program or a four-year degree and a paralegal certificate from an ABA-certified program preferred - Minimum of 3 years trust & estates law paralegal experience required - Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university - Military or other applicable experience may substitute for educational requirements Skills and Abilities: - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications - Ability to learn new software quickly - Strong proofreading skills - Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues - Flexible work schedule, including availability for overtime - Strong time management and organizational skills - Ability to think clearly and act decisively under pressure - Proactive and self-motivated Preferred Skills & Experience: - 3 or more years of experience as a trusts & estates paralegal - Paralegal Certificate - Experience in providing trusts & estates support strongly preferred What We Offer: - Competitive salary and benefits package - Opportunities for professional growth and development - Collaborative culture that values innovation, integrity, and inclusivity Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP is an equal opportunity employer and celebrates diversity in the workplace.
