Franchise Paralegal
The candidate will manage the legal compliance and drafting of contracts to assist with the growth of the franchise shops through the commitment of new and existing franchise partners. Under the supervision of our Chief Development Officer, prepare and revise franchise agreements, amendments, and related documents. Review and draft documentation and delivery of franchise agreement, renewal, resale, change of ownership and related franchise documents to franchisees to ensure compliance with applicable law. Provides delivery of these documents in electronic form or printed form. Understand and promot compliance with Federal and State franchise laws and regulations, as part of the organization’s internal control process. Analyz and summariz key contract terms and compiling pertinent information about franchise agreements to enable the appropriate teams to take proactive steps for timely renewals. Maintain centralized records for franchise contract materials, to create an auditable trail for contract histories and proof of compliance. Prepare correspondence on behalf of the legal department to assist with franchise development, operations, or litigation matters. Aid in the development of, and participate in, training modules related to franchise. Ensure franchise files are complete and comply with Federal and State laws. Coordinate and update weekly Franchise Development scorecards. Such other activities that may arise and that may be necessary or helpful in manage the company’s legal and franchise matters. Facilitate the preparation of Franchise Disclosure Documents. Delivers and tracks distribution of Franchise Disclosure Documents. Assist with the management of trademark- or franchise-related litigation, including responding to discovery requests. Ensure candidate files are complete and comply with Federal and State laws. Prepare and manage logistics for franchise conferences and trade shows. Handle lead qualification calls with new lead inquiries. Tracks documents, obtain signatures, and collect payments. Communicate and provide other departments with information regarding policies and franchise agreement information. Serve as primary liaison for franchisee inquiries related to various franchise related transactions. Effectively and clearly communicates with franchisees regarding policy details. Assist in refining processes and documentation necessary to support consistent application of internal franchise documentation policies. Maintain all legal documentation, electronic files, and databases, to ensure current and accurate information is available. Prepare report handle special project and any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualification and Experience The candidate should have a B.A. Law Degree Postgraduate Paralegal Diploma. Should have 2-5 years of legal experience (in-house preferred) with Franchising experience. and 2+ years of contract drafting experience. Experience with electronic signatures (e.g., DocuSign) and ability to easily adopt new technologies based on business needs. Notary Public Certification a plus Benefits. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. The ability to work independently and manage priorities with little oversight. Must have knowledge of and skilled in using software including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe, attention to detail and ability to carefully proofread all work, with exceptional attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure. The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal communications, organizational skills, such as the ability to categorize, sort and utilize information and/or materials in an efficient manner. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines through to timely completion .
