The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of estate and trust law, alongside a proven track record of building client relationships and managing complex legal matters. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of estate and trust planning, administration, and litigation.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing tailored legal advice and strategies to meet their needs.
  • Mentor and guide junior attorneys and staff, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment.
  • Stay abreast of current laws and regulations in estate and trust matters, ensuring compliance and proactive planning for clients.
  • Draft and review complex legal documents, including wills, trusts, and other estate planning instruments.
  • Represent clients in probate proceedings and other estate-related disputes in various jurisdictions.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the firm’s estate and trust practice.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in estate and trust law, with a strong focus on high-net-worth clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legal statutes, tax implications, and estate planning strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex cases and navigating sensitive client situations.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in New York.
  • Certification in Estate Planning, Trust Administration, or a related field is preferred.
