Job Summary:
Greenberg Traurig, LLP (GT) is seeking an experienced Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate to join their growing team in San Francisco. This is a full-time remote/hybrid position with the opportunity to work on cutting edge matters, gain significant responsibility, and have direct exposure to clients while working with experienced GT privacy and security attorneys. The expected annualized base salary range for this position is $205,000 to $305,000, with additional benefits and potential for bonuses.

Key Responsibilities:

- Providing legal advice on data protection matters for a variety of industries, including technology, fintech, e-commerce, healthcare, and retail.
- Assisting companies with compliance issues related to CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, FTC Act, and other global privacy laws and regulations.
- Drafting and revising privacy notices, terms of service, incident response plans, and other data protection policies.
- Negotiating commercial agreements involving data sharing.
- Conducting privacy and security due diligence for corporate transactions.
- Driving data breach preparation, risk mitigation, coordination, and responses.
- Maintaining a deep understanding of major global and . data protection legal frameworks.
- Providing exemplary client service and maintaining strong relationships with clients.

Requirements:

- Admission to practice law in California with excellent academic credentials.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience specializing in data protection matters.
- Familiarity with major global and . data protection legal frameworks.
- Experience with compliance issues related to CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, FTC Act, and other global privacy laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA, FCRA, GLBA, COPPA, TCPA, and CAN-SPAM is beneficial.
- Experience drafting and revising privacy notices, terms of service, incident response plans, and other data protection policies.
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements involving data sharing.
- Experience in conducting privacy and security due diligence for corporate transactions.
- IAPP CIPP certification (. and EU) is strongly preferred.
