How You Will Make a Difference:
As a Business Immigration Consultant, you will perform more substantive and client-facing work than is typical for a Paralegal in a law firm setting. Your responsibilities will include various case-related duties requiring specialized knowledge and skills in employment-based immigration matters. You will also independently perform tasks related to case preparation and filing, oversee case status, and work with clients to establish case strategy. Additionally, you will proactively communicate with foreign nationals and clients, generate clear and well-organized written work product, and meet assigned deadlines. Other key responsibilities include assisting in the hiring and training of new team members, identifying ways to improve team productivity, and staying updated on changes to immigration policies.

Leverage Your Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you should have an Associate’s degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of experience. You should also possess strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of visas and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you should be proficient in using computer systems and have a desire to contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform substantive and client-facing work in employment-based immigration matters
Independently handle case preparation and filing, including document gathering, review, and analysis
Oversee case status and provide prompt and clear responses to client inquiries
Generate well-organized written work product demonstrating immigration knowledge and problem-solving skills
Meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress and escalations to supervisor
Assist in hiring and training of new team members and identify ways to improve team productivity
Stay updated on changes to immigration policies and incorporate them into processes
Adhere to firm standards and policies to ensure compliance and minimize risk
Demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset and look for opportunities to improve quality and efficiency

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or Paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience
Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of business immigration experience
Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of visas
