Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a driven and talented Insurance Defense Attorney to join its expanding team. The firm represents insurers and their policyholders in complex matters, including first- and third-party claims, coverage disputes, and personal injury protection (PIP) litigation. The successful candidate will work with a collaborative team of professionals on high-stakes legal matters, gaining hands-on experience in litigation while advancing their career in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Location:

  • Farmington Hills, MI

Duties:

  • Represent insurers and policyholders in first-party and third-party insurance defense litigation, including PIP, bodily injury, and property damage claims.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage discovery efforts, including drafting discovery responses, taking and defending depositions, and preparing expert witnesses.
  • Draft motions, briefs, and other court filings.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of attorneys and support staff to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and advocate for clients in court when necessary.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a preference for candidates with PIP experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and drive results.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle complex litigation matters independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Skilled in drafting legal documents and representing clients in court.
